Hi! I'm Kim :) You can find me scrapping away in my own little corner of northeast TN where I live with my dh Billy and our 2 English bullies, Pudgie & Belle. Aside from my job of playing housekeeper to the 3 of them, I work as an RN in the operating room. Don't worry, I still manage to find time to feed my addiction to scrapbooking! I've been having this affair with paper, glue, & scissors for about 7 years now, and love it more every day! I just recently discovered how much fun it can be to actually USE all those supplies I've hoarded for so long! I think my style pretty much changes with the wind, but it seems I'm always using layers somewhere, somehow on my layouts.
I am absolutely honored to have been chosen as guest designer this month for SNC! The Summer Circle Challenge was a total blast, and I'm looking forward to having lots more fun here!

Crop for a Cure!

Each Year 182,000 women are diagnosed with Breast Cancer and 43,300 of those die. One in every 8 women has or will have develop Breast Cancer in her lifetime. Also 1,600 men will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer and 400 of these men will die this year. This year cancer has hit close to home to one of the members of our site. We have been there to support members and family of members who are fighting Breast Cancer with our prayers and love. But, we feel we can do so much more to help benefit them as well as other families fighting the same battles.

Scrapncircle.com is preparing it’s first scrap-a-thon and auction to help raise money for a breast cancer clinic in Texas. The event will be held October 8 – 14, 2007, to help promote Breast Cancer Awareness month. We are asking our members to take pledges and donations to help for this cause. Each member will be asking the community to sponsor them based on how many scrapbook pages they complete during the week long event. Pledges start September 9, 2007, You can get your pledge sheet at www.scrapncircle.com .

Welcome August's Guest Design Team Member Kristin. Let's learn a little more about her.

I'm Kristin, I'm 21 years old, and double major in Political Science and Women's and Gender Studies at Rutgers University; only one year left till I graduate! I live in Central New Jersey with my boyfriend, and our many stuffed animals (our babies). After school I eventually want to go on to pursue a graduate degree, but I'd like to take a couple of years off and work "in the real world".

I've been scrapbooking since I was about 16, but I only really got into it (scrapping for hours each day) when I got my own place this past year. I love making cards, altered projects, especially clipboards and journals, I'm currently working on two all about me books (yes, I am completely self absorbed), a baby book for a friend, a bunch of random mini books, and a 12x12 album that doesn't really have much of a theme!

Thank you all so much for the awesome opportunity to join the GDT. I love it here, and can't wait to get to know everyone that much better! Any questions about me feel free to PM me, I love making new friends!

I live and scrap in rural-ish northwestern New Jersey, sharing my stash with three other scrapbookers: my husband, Ian; four-year-old Ralph; and 2-year-old Kaycie. (Truly! You know how addictive this craft is!)!

Before my son was born, I was a teacher, and before that I worked in corporate marketing. Now that I’m ‘home’ with my children, I keep house and design for a couple of stamping and scrapbooking manufacturers and sometimes a favorite online store or two ☺. I was a ‘straight scrapper’ for about three years, then branched out into altered arts and a little cardmaking, and now I love everything papercrafting.

My absolute favorite season is summer – it makes me happy! And I’m doubly happy to be able to share a big chunk of this summer as a guest designer for Scrap~n~Circle. Thanks for the warm welcome!

Our Very Own Talented Jeri!

Let me share a special project with you made by our very own Jeri! This project has special meaning to her and here is the story....

I worked for a gal a couple years back at a salon...she taught me a ton of stuff...nails..hair..etc. Well we became really close. She has a daughter with the same disabilities as my daughter(Cerebal Palsy). The difference between Ashley and Britt was the fact Ash can talk and communicate...where my lil Miss B cannot. Anyway when she was born she also had a congential respritory disease. She is 23 now and her lungs and respritory system are failing...so her parents decided to bring her home and let her enjoy the time she has left. Her family had reserved July 1 as Ashley Day and they had a HUGE BBQ at her grandparents house with family and friends. Well I wanted Miss Ash and her incredibly AWESOME mom to have something to look at with the pic's from that day. So I made the album and titled it "Celebrate: A Day Like No Other!

I would like to say thank you to all of the talented ppl that have entered the GDT Challenege this last couple of months! I am amazed by the talent out there.

lets keep it going this month with something fun and new.

I have a special place in my heart for CARDS, most people know that i would rather create a card other than anything. I know there are a ton of ppl out there like me..so this month's challenge will be all about cards.

There are a bunch of good sketch sites out there that have card templates..but my absolute fav is Miss Becky Fleck at www.pagemaps.com, she is absolutley amazing. I have printed out every single sketch she has avaiable. I have used a ton of them she is such great inspiration for me.

So my challenge this month is to go to www.pagemaps.com and find 3 card sketches that inspire you. Post your creations in the gallery under August GDT Challenge. Please also link them back to this thread. Make sure you list all supplies used and give Becky the kudos she deserves in the gallery.

These must be new creations and not posted in any other gallery until our contest is over. The deadline for this contest is July 28,2007 EST. The current DT will vote for their fav and the winner will be announced Aug.1, 2007.

The Aug GDT member will be required to make at least but not limited to 6 cards out of the Store product they recieve.

First I have to say that this is my FAVORITE new line!!! If you have not seen this yet you really need to check it out!! Fabulous colors...and they have the BEST oil-free hand lotion EVER!!! www.tinkeringink.com

Andrea and I had such a blast....walked every square inch of that conv. center and some of it 1500 times. Nobody warned me it would be that stressful buying product. Not sure if you are getting something everyone likes....by the end of the show I was WARN DOWN. I think we did pretty good though.

It has snowed a grand total of 2 times this year and Spring is almost here...very depressing for someone who loves this state for the fact that we have AWESOME winters and very HOT summers!! there is no lack of cold here a blistering 10 degrees right now.

Tim made it to his final destination and is all settled into his apartment. He had orientation at school yesterday and was so pumped...I am so thrilled he is doing what he wants with his life...EARLY!!! It was definatley hard to let him move all the way across the country...but to live his dream...so excited for him!!

Started working on a BOM this week...have needed to do this for a long time...finally took a challenge at SNC www.scrapncircle.com need to git in there and work on the next page.

Ok so if you look REAL close you can see my car...I swear it's there!! SO we are having GLORIOUS weather as you can see!!! It started out this morning just snow...then came the darknes...then the wind...50-60mph winds!! We havent had weather like this in about 2 years...I now have 3ft snow drifts next to my porch and 1ft drifts on my porch!! Grrrrrrr...this upsets me...I have all my stuff on my porch for winter...cuz it NEVER gets wet there....until today!! I so NEED a shed!!! March is DEFINATLY coming in like a LION in N. Utah!!

Off to warm up!!!

Ok I was so wound up lastnight...Apollo is my fav...his sportsmanship..his style and lets not forget his "HOT" body!!! I was so excited for him...jumpin up and down in the living room...It felt like the night John Stockton hit the winning bucket that sent the Jazz to the NBA Finals...the only difference I cried that night!! What a great event we had this year!!! God Bless all the athletes!!! Thank You for giving us a GREAT show this year!! See ya in 2010!!

Ok so this was a CRAZY day...I was headed into town on the freeway and in one mile I counted 15 slide off's and 2 rollovers....Yes I took pic's sittin in traffic..nothing else to do...well on my way back home the road decieved me. I was going the speed limit(75mph)...roads clear...I pass a semi truck carrying Large metal pipes....as I go to get back over the gal in front of the truck starts to slide sideways....going 75!!! Aaarrgghhhh...I hit the brakes....needless to say I also started to head sideways..RIGHT NEXT TO THE SEMI, I let my foot off the brake and straigtened back out, I look up and the lady sliding sideways is now stopped in front of me sideways...Ummm ok the brain can work really fast in a matter of seconds...knowing the semi is still next to me and she will be T-boned by an extremly LARGE Truck if I hit her..I decided the median in the freeway was my only option, I slightly turn the wheel and off I go ...75mph into the median...OMG...thank god there was tall grass and 2 feet of snow in that median!! It was the only thing that stopped my from entering the south bound lanes of the freeway.

why did I not get pictures of this you ask???? Well for one thing my hands were shaking way too bad....and I figured that was my carma for taking pic's of the other accidents!! So be careful of what you take pic's of!!!

Ok so here it is....At least I think this is going to be the one...my little ray of sunshine..Evan (on the right ) didnt have his eyes open in any of the picks!! So I have worked the last couple of days at the SB store.."Coming Up Daisies". I can tell you I am so sick of ordering stuff...LOL I will have part numbers dancin around in my head for days...LOL ...and to think I want a store... :)

Brittany is doing so well on this pump, her sugars seem so much more even. I still feel bad that she has to be poked with that HUGE needle that delivers the insulin. Thanks so much to all of you for your supposrt thru this...sometimes it sucks being in the medical proffesion not by choice, but need!!!

I am havin a blast with the new website!!! There is so much that I still need to learn. I am kinda pokin around here and there learning by messin around. Thank goodness I have a few freinds that are puter savvy and have helped me a ton!!! Thanks to all of you!!!

So Timothy is going to git an engine for Xmas..wooohoo for him Huh!! Teehee...I might also buy him a pair of socks or somethin..LOL He really was bummed the day it happened, he thought he had done something to the car. I told him this is just the 1st of many things that will go wrong with a car...specially a used one! Poor kid!

Why Cant I scrap????

I have 3 classes I need to git ready for and I cant make myself do it!!! I hate the fact that I work better under pressure!!! At least I think it's when I do my best work!! Am I the only one that does this?? I am the same way with other things in my life...wait till the last minute to go to the grocery store...wait til the last minute to find everything I need for an appt....to pack when I am going somewhere....why do I do this...my life would be so much eaier if I did it in advance. I must enjoy CHAOS!!!

So how do I pull out of it?? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Britt is doing GREAT..her numbers are looking way better than they did the 1st night!! So it's back to school for her tom. where I git the pleasure of teaching nurses and teachers how to use her pump. This just seems odd to me..I will be teaching the district school nurse how to work this thing...shouldnt they already know something about it? Britt is not the only one in the district that has one of these..lots of kids do! So say a little prayer for me tom morning around 8:30 am...that I wont SNAP!!!! LOL

I am so proud of Tim right now(my oldest) he has just signed up for his 2nd ACT test...he just took one last month. Doesnt even know the results but is taking it again. He is having such a hard time deciding where he wants to go to school..I want him to go away and experience all he the college life he can...he has narrowed it down to U of U (go utes) and Utah State ( go Aggies) Which ever one he chooses will be great!! He had a XBOX 360 on layaway and went and got all the money off of it and put it in the bank to save for school...what kid does this???? He really wants that game BAD!!!! LOL just learning to be responsible I quess!!!!

I hate "CANCER"

I got a phone call from from a Freind that owns a scrapbook store in Ogden...she wanted to let me know something before I saw it on 2 peas. She was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I was floored. She goes to have the lump removed and biopsied next week. I feel so bad...knowing there is nothing I can do for her. A bunch of her freinds are having a " CANCER SUCKS" crop tom night at her store. I wish I could be there for that also...but Rendall has to work. I need to find somethin I can do for her!

Brittany did awesome lastnight!! Her #'s were good and no low's!!! So tonight I am gonna go out on a limb and check her less often!! She seems to be better thru the day also. Maybe tonight I will finally git some good sleep.

I have am going to be teaching a few classes at the scrapbook store. In dec. a altered tin class and 2 in Jan. A paper bag album class and a class on altering. I love working at the store. I would have liked it better if I had owned it...but that wasn't supposed to be. So I will just work there!

I am praying for you Michelle!!!!

Well normal sleep anyway... Brittany got a new insulin pump yeterday and has to be tested every 2 hours...her poor little fingers are black and blue! Went to the Diabetes doc again today and she said we have to keep doing this kind of testing for the next 48 hours!!!! OMG I will be so stupid by the end of this!! It's worse than havin a newborn again!!! I hope it is all sorted out by next month..she has to have surgery on her mouth to remove some akward teeth and get a good gum cleaning.

I am going to start teaching a card class at my mom's in Idaho. My first class is next friday and I havent even got the cards made yet! No rush huh...can you say "FOCUS"!! There are only 6 people signed up so far..just enuf to cover gas and product. Hopefully after this class word of mouth will spread and I have more at the next class. They have also requested I make up some kits for them to order...so I will be a little busy this next week!!! I hope this goes well...it's a small town and no one has ever taught anything up there...but there seems to be lots of intrest. I also don't want to have to go back to work and it is a good excuse to go see my mom!!!

Hopefully I can post to this more often!!! Maybe help me get out some frustration!!!!LOL

Chatterbox Challenge for myself!!!!

I wanted to challenge myself to see what I could come up with if I only used 2 peice's of paper.
Chatter box ppr..small amount of Bazzill and regular cardstock..scrapworks hugs and Alphadotz..MM rubons..and random hareware ( belt buckle...key holder) also from DI ... metal tags..unknown...all the ribbon is Offray..Binder rings from Office Max to hold it closed.
The result's: One Great Altered "Pattern File" found at my favorite thrift store DI and 3 cards to put inside the file. This will be a gift for my mom that I have been working on for ages!!! I still have some cards to finish...but it's getting closer!!!

Sorry to all of you who check this!!! I have had no incentive to post!!

Dont know if it's because there is nothing excitin happening or if I just cant get into it!!!

I worked my butt off all last week to get my house ready to show to a gal that was SUPER intrested...she called me like 5 times to make sure it was ok to come Saturday. So I thought she was interested. Sat rolls around and nothing!!! Not a phone call, kiss my ass, NOTHING!!!! So I am a little bitter. I put off a bunch of stuff to do this , that wont be happening again!!!

As most of you know I have a handicap daughter, Brittany-15 , she has Cerbal Palsy, Juvinelle Diabetes, severe Scoliosis and is Blind. She is such a SWEET girl. Anyhoo she was supposed to start Summer School last Monday...Medicaid is throwing a complete fit over her having to be tested twice a day by a nurse. This is really pissin me off!! They are so petty about what they will pay for!!

Ok so while I was typing that I got a phone call they will pay for 1 visit a day. That's better than nothing, so she will be off to Summer School tom.Yeah for me!! I know this might sound bad..but I need the break from her. LOVE her to death and wouldnt change the way she is for ANYTHING, she is very time consuming. She is 15 years old and on a 3 month old level, she is TOTALLY dependent on others!! Not only does the time away from her help me...I can spend time with the other 3 without saying wait a sec..Britt needs somethin, but it is good for her to interact with others.

Please send good vibes my way...for the selling of this house.. Or as Kenny would say "Keep all ur appendages crossed for me" Thanks guys U are the best!!!!

So the CRAZY lady came back on Sunday!!! This time the police were called!!! I pressed charges against her for home invasion....I havent seen her since so she must have got the message!!! The cop was just shocked that she even entered my house!!! I am also going to file a restraining order against her so that if she does ever return she will be taken away to a happier place!! LOL

All is well again..but I can tell you I still dont feel safe in my own home!!!!

If you woke up to some CRAZY person standing in your room with a flashlight at 5:30 in the morning????

It was almost like a dream....cept for the fact that I had grabbed the collar of my extermly large...pissed off pitbull.

It started Friday night.....I had seen a kid running along the RR tracks...ducking behind weeds like he was hiding from someone. He sees something and takes off running down the tracks until he was out of sight. I watched for who he was hiding from thinking it had to be the cops....well it wasnt it was his parents. Turns out I know the kid..my son used to be really good freinds with him until he got into drugs and a gang and so on!! His mother would drop him off and leave him for days with me...she is definatly NOT stable.

So I tell them he headed down the tracks and off they went to find him...they returned an hour later wondering if we had seen him again??? I told them NO and off they went again. Jump ahead til 5:30 am...I am sleeping in my bed, pitbull next to me like he always is...dh at work...the dog starts freaking out and I say someone saying..."Tim's mom...Tim's mom"...what the hell??? I open my eyes and she is standing in my bedroom doorway with a flashlight asking me if I have seen her kid...she is still looking for him.... I am still asleep and in shock...is she really in my house....is this real??? Sure enuf it was!! I asked her what the hell she thought she was doing and how did she get in my house?? the doors are locked...she just kept saying i cant find him I am so worried...not even caring that she broke into my house. I told her to get the hell out before I let the dog go....she looked at me dumfounded and left???

Fast forward till 8:30 Sat. morning...she shows up and knocks on my door AGAIN wongering if I had seen him again???? Is this lady CRAZY????....I told her get the hell out of here and dont come back or I would call the cops!!!!

What am I supposed to learn from this??? Everything happens for a reason....I am FREAKED out! Should I have let the dog eat her???? I have always known she was UNSTABLE..but for her to think she can come in my house???? What is that???? I still cant figure out how she got in??? Will I be safe in my house???

Well I have decided that this is a great thing...this "BLOG". Until 7 days ago I had no clue what BLOG meant. Mc Daddy aka Srapdaddy told me about DD..CZ and AE's blogs! How cool is this!!! A place to share with all my SS and SNC buddies!! I loved reading all the blogs today..I love the fact that people take the time to post and let us see alittle bit of their lives....even tho we are thousands of miles away.

I am not a DEEP person by any means...so If you are looking for DEEP you will need to look elsewhere. I have been scrapbooking for about 7 years and have become totally ADDICTED and that is putting it lightly. I have always been crafty person...but with sbing I get to express myself in ways I never knew I could. The kicker...this will be around for the next 200 years...give or take 10 or 20 years. I hope to be able to share with my children and their children what my life was like and how I felt about everything. I want people to know about my Great husband, great kids and just me in general!!
